Stand Down for Homelessness is back on September 9th, 9am to 1pm at White Bluff Methodist Church.

This is a full resource and job fair for anyone experiencing homelessness in our community. Free haircuts, clothing, health screenings, eye glasses, flu shots, vaccinations, care packages, and lunch, all in one place.

Free trolley pickup starts at 8am from several spots around Savannah, including right here at Union Mission (120 Fahm Street) and our Day Center. Drop off begins at 12pm. Other pickup locations include the Salvation Army, Old Savannah City Mission, Savannah Baptist Center, and Ellis, Reynolds, Franklin, and Johnson Squares.

Empty Bowl Sunday

Empty Bowl returns to Reynolds Square on November 1st from 12pm to 2pm.

Join us for a community lunch in the heart of downtown. Our culinary team is cooking alongside The Olde Pink House, and every guest picks out a handcrafted ceramic bowl to take home as a reminder of the meal and the mission behind it.

Every dollar raised supports our new Emmaus House Resource Center, which serves more than 200 people each day with meals, showers, laundry, and case management. Sponsorships start at $300 and include tickets and tote bags.

Kiwanis of Skidaway Chili Cook-Off

The 28th annual Kiwanis of Skidaway Chili Cook-Off is Saturday, November 7th from 11am to 2pm at Landings Community Park.

Taste and judge chili from local restaurants, including vegetarian options, with complimentary hot dogs and sodas while you make up your mind. There is a DJ, a magician, a petting zoo, face painting, and a playground for the kids, plus golf cart and 50/50 raffles.

All proceeds benefit at-risk children in Savannah and Chatham County, and Union Mission is proud to be one of the organizations this event supports.

Applied Underwriters Golf Invitational

Spend a day on the greens for a good cause. The Applied Underwriters Golf Invitational tees off Friday, November 13th at Richmond Hill Golf Club, and every dollar raised goes to Union Mission.

Round up your foursome and register your team. The winning team also qualifies for the 2027 Applied Underwriters Invitational National Finals at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.
