Strategic Plan

In 2022, Union Mission and the Board of Directors executed an extensive and inclusive strategic planning process facilitated by the consulting firm 1000 Feathers. Leveraging broad stakeholder input, the team updated our mission and vision, outlined organizational values, and developed three strategic priorities:

Disciplined and Focused Growth

As the needs of this community evolve, we must rise to the challenge. We will use our experiences, data, and the voices of those we serve to identify needs and generate transformative solutions.

Key Strategies:

5. Create new partnerships that allow for new funding opportunities, expanded services, increased referrals, and more streamlined referrals for our clients.

6. Embrace our use of technology and data as a way to create a strategic advantage.

7. Lead conversations in Chatham County that connect homelessness and affordable housing.

Collaborate and Engage

It is impossible to do our work alone. We are committed to removing silos, intentionally identifying strategic partnerships, and creating new alliances to meet the needs of our community.

Key Strategies:

3. Enhance our internal and external communications, outreach, and engagement through all departments.

4. Increase our positioning and leadership in the existing continuum allowing for enhanced funding and more meaningful collaboration.

Take Care of Home

To better serve those in need, we must first take care of home. We will be better equipped to achieve our mission by building and investing in our team and facilities.

Key Strategies:

1. Recruit and retain the best talent available.

2. Update and modernize facilities across the organization.
