STORIES OF SUCCESS
Cooking with Gratitude
“Renovating the kitchen drastically changed the mood of the women here at the Barnes Center,” said Pam Odom, Case Manager of the Ben and Bettye Barnes Center. “Painting the walls may not feel like a big deal to some people, but it makes a world of difference to the ladies here. They are all proud to call this their home.”
With a new kitchen, residents are able to fellowship with one another and create positive memories centered around the one thing that all people love … food!
“Many of the women we serve love to cook and share their recipes for traditional southern dishes with one another,” according to Odom. “Now, they have the perfect space to prepare their meals.”
The goal of Union Mission is to be a housing solution that truly feels like home for those who need it. With your continued support, Union Mission will focus on making more needed upgrades to the Ben and Bettye Barnes Center.
