The Starfish Cafe Cookbook

The Starfish Café is a unique culinary arts collaborative of Savannah Technical College and Union Mission, Inc.  The Café, which opened in 2001, makes it possible for low-income or homeless individuals to become self-sufficient.  Because of this program, hundreds of Starfish Cafe graduates are now working in the food services industry in our community and able to support themselves.

The Starfish Cafe Cookbook is an award winning cookbook of the Cafe's most favored recipes that would be a welcome addition to anyone's recipe and cookbook collection!! You may order as many copies as you like by clicking on the link below the cookbook cover photo for an order form.  Simply print, fill out the form, and mail it with your check, money order, or credit card information to include 7% sales tax ($21.35) plus $2.50 shipping ($23.85) per book that you would like mailed to you.

You may also take your completed form to the Starfish Cafe (719 East Broad Street; corner of East Broad & Gwinnett) or to Union Mission, Inc. (120 Fahm Street) - each cookbook would then be only $21.35 ($19.95 + 7% sales tax with no shipping charges.)  Or when you are out shopping look in your favorite bookstore as most in the area are carrying our cookbook!  We look forward to your order for the Starfish Cafe Cookbook(s) - they make great gifts - as we continue changing lives one recipe at a time!!

The Don & Kaye Kole Center for Women

In response to the communities growing needs, The Don & Kaye Kole Center is Union Mission's newest facility.  This center is permanent supportive housing for women with disabilities.

The women who will reside at the Kole Center will continue their treatment for substance abuse, mental health, primary care recuperation, etc. while meeting weekly with case managers to ensure they are doing the necessary things to become healthier individuals and productive citizens in our community.

Once stabilized, the clients are referred to Union Mission’s Employment & Training Center for employment. Once employed and in recovery from substance abuse or compliant with their other treatments, they will likely chose to move into their own home and live alone or with a significant other.
