The Employment & Training Center (ETC) program is designed to provide employment services, life skills training, work training, job placement, and follow-up services to homeless and at-risk for homelessness persons.

2007 Highlights

  • 559 persons enrolled in the Employment & Training Center
  • 204 persons enrolled in the Life Skills Program 
  • 168 persons established savings accounts 
  • 239 persons obtained employment with an average wage of $7.87/hour

The Starfish Café (a partnership with Savannah Technical College)

A twenty week certified culinary arts training program with lab experience in a functioning restaurant, the program teaches work skills, provides placement, and offers follow-up services. All participates must also complete the Life Skills Curriculum.

 

2007 Highlights

  • 57 graduated from the program 
  • 31 graduates were placed in jobs with an average wage of $9.00/hour
